Station News

September 14th 2008: I passed the test for the General class license today. Thank you very much to the VE team who volunteered their time.

March 28th 2008: There was a nice 10 meter opening today and I was able to work Australia, Hawaii, Costa Rica and Brazil.

November 2007: WD5EAE helped me get my station running by putting up my 70 cm, 2 meter, and 6 meter antennas, getting Windows running stable (near impossible), and getting my rig and other equipment running.

June 2nd 2007: I worked my first satellite contacts K9OIM, K6YK and KD8CAO June 2 (UTC) 2007

May 18th and 19th 2007: Dad and I went to the Dayton Hamfest. I met Gordon West (I used his study manual to get my Tech license) and Bill McArthur, Jr. an astronaut.

January 8th 2007: There was a super opening on 6 meters and I worked about 80 contacts including some in Canada and Mexico. Dad logged for me. He was jealous of the pileups I was getting.

January 7th 2007: WD5EAE and I operated a few hours of the ARRL kid's day event. We worked SSB on 20 meters.

End of December 2006: My elmer, WD5EAE (my dad), was real helpful in helping me get on the air. I am using a paper log to start with but will convert to Ham Radio Deluxe later.

Mid December 2006: My mom and I took and passed the Technician class license. Our callsigns arrived about a week later: KE5LWF and KE5LWE.  My dad, WD5EAE, got his General class license.
